Golden Fields
Golden Fields (Broad Cove, Nova Scotia) captures one of my favourite subjects to paint here in Broad Cove – this little gothic house by the beach. Here, the sun lit up the fall grasses into an extraordinary range of colours in both light and illuminated shadow.
This original painting is part the Songs of Grasses Collection which was inspired by the astonishingly varied palette of colours that can be seen in coastal grasses. The series plays with harmonies of colour to capture an evocative and poetic view of Nova Scotia’s homes and coastal landscape.
You can read the story behind the collection or view available paintings in the shop.
Details
Acrylic on watercolour paper mounted to 12” x 18” cradled wood panel.
Signed in the lower corner of the painting.
Sealed + varnished with a gorgeous ultra-mat varnish. Hangs flush to the wall with a concealed wire.
You could choose to hang it as-is, or place it in a floater frame – whichever suits your tastes and your home.
As an original piece of art, it is truly one-of-a-kind! If you love it, I hope you will collect the painting for your wall, so it can give you that same feeling over and over for years.
