Fundy Blues

$525.00

Fundy Blues (Wolfville, Nova Scotia) captures the view of the Blomidon cliff edge across the water of the Minas Basin. This was the view as seen from the dyke walk in Wolfville in mid-summer. The cool blues and greens of the grasses, water, and distant hills were beautifully harmonious. The area’s red soil tinted the water to a nearly violet hue in some areas.

This original painting is part the Songs of Grasses Collection which was inspired by the astonishingly varied palette of colours that can be seen in coastal grasses. The series plays with harmonies of colour to capture an evocative and poetic view of Nova Scotia’s homes and coastal landscape.

You can read the story behind the collection or view available paintings in the shop.
